The ducks are from an old greeting card that I saved because I found it to be delightful. The box is probably cherry wood and very well made. I dabbed on paint: several colors of greens, brown and finally silver. I added a green border of fluted ribbon and put silver nails in the corners. Green fluted paper lines the inside and it’s all covered with polyurethane many times over. It’s a favorite of mine.

I made a gift of this box to my dear friend Diane Hunter on a visit to her home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in June 2006.
