This and the next two pages illustrate the dinner I had at Erburu, a restaurant I found near the Hotel Eslava in Pamplona's old town. It was 8:45 p.m.--late for me. When I asked, in Spanish, "Can I get a little something for dinner?" The woman who greeted me said, "At this hour?!" They eat late in Spain.
Without setting out with this goal in mind, I got to sample some home-cooked, traditional Navarra cuisine with its traditional home cooking tastes--and it was very good. This is "cardo con jamón"...hot celery with ham...delicious! |
