A view near Horseshoe Pass, above Llangollen, Wales.
This is a sketchy journal accompanied by many photographs of our (King's & Paula's) trip to the northeast border region of Wales and our journey aboard the narrowboat Cheryl for a week in early April 2003.
We arrived via Manchester Airport two days before we were to take possession of our Black Prince narrowboat. On arrival at the airport, we rented a car and drove to Chirk, Wales, where we had a room reserved at the Hand Hotel--our base for a driving tour that touched many of the points on the Llangollen Canal that we would later approach in the boat.
