From dougnewby.com: This home was designed by Hal Thomson in 1914 for George Greer, the president of Magnolia Petroleum Company, which later became Mobil Oil. Truly eclectic, the home is not true to a design of the eighteenth century, but includes Georgian details and a nod toward Italian Renaissance. The home is listed in the National Register of Historic Places by the U.S. Department of the Interior National Parks Service as the George Greer home. |
