| In the foreground is a movie theater complex currently owned by the Lowe's chain. In the background is the Cityplace building, which stands on the immediate east side of I-75 just north of downtown Dallas. [The theater has seen been razed, but not replaced. Too bad.]
Cityplace is owned by the Southland Corporation, now named 7-Eleven, Inc. The original plan was to build twin towers on either side of the expressway, connected by a sky-bridge walkway. It would have been very impressive. Things change. |
