In July 2006, I had the opportunity to travel to Munich for training in the Python programming language for SPSS, conducted by Jon Peck. American Airlines (my employer) doesn't fly directly to Munich, so I decided to fly to Frankfurt and drive to Munich, seeing a few sights on the way. Unfortunately, Germany (and most of central Europe) was experiencing a fierce heat wave. The weather was more unpleasant than that I left behind in Dallas, Texas, so I rarely left the comfort of the car's air conditioning for more than a few minutes. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my drive and my few days in Munich.

Here are a variety of snapshots taken during my drive from the Frankfurt Airport, along the Neckar River valley, via Besigheim to Schwabisch Hall, where I spent the night, and general impressions of the small part of Munich that had the privilege and the time to see.
