In the beautiful Bosques de Palermo in Buenos Aires there exists an unusual thing--a section dedicated to great poets and other artists who have left their mark on the hearts and minds of Argentines. In a broad circle, facing one another, are the busts of 20 poets, writers and musicians. Some are Argentine and most could be labeled as Latin American, but there is Shakespeare, too. Because poetry is often given short shrift among the arts, I found it the more remarkable that these sensitive and beautiful sculptures were placed there in the park in a beautiful space dedicated to the artists they represent.

To my knowledge, these are the only photographic illustrations of the Poets of Palermo on the world wide web. Click any thumbnail or its title to see a larger image.
