Country-Club

This is the golf course of the Lakewood Country Club. The middle-class, waspy Lakewood neighborhood borders the west side of White Rock Lake. A good friend of mine takes issue with my "characterization of Lakewood as middle-class since it's upscale but hasn't lost its soul, not that its soul could ever equal that of less affluent neighborhoods."

White Rock Lake used to provide drinking water for Dallas. It's about 3 miles long at its longest and about 1 mile across at its widest. A nice bike trail runs around it and some folks keep small sailing boats at the small marina. Don't even think of swimming in the lake, though.
